1. The name & URL of your blog.
2. Any text you want to include in your masthead. This can be a tagline, a slogan, a byline, whatever. Keep it concise.
3. A color scheme. This is a really important piece of information. Decide whether you want me to match the colors you have in an existing template or a new one. If you're powered by Blogger, tell me what template you want this header to fit into so I can match the exact colors. If you want the colors to go along with the theme of your blog (for instance Blue for Blue Sky Design, let me know this). If you want me to decide the colors (I am very good at this and can then suggest a template that the masthead would go well with), let me know. It's better to say, "I'm fine with the following colors..." than "You must use ONLY these colors".
4. Images. If there is a type of image you'd like me to use, please specify. It's better to suggest a type of image rather than a specific image itself. What I mean is, it's better to say, "I want flowers on my masthead" than "I want this exact clip art image of a flower that I'm sending you." YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SPECIFY AN IMAGE. I repeat, you do not have to specify an image. It's actually probably better if you don't because the more freedom I have to design your blog, the better. Please see the helpful hint below.
5. Size - You do not have to specify this unless you have some weird request for a really small masthead. The standard size is the width of the masthead at the top of this very blog. Height will depend on the images/text used in the masthead itself.
Finally, just give me an overview of any general ideas you had in mind. For instance, do you want it to look more modern and sort of minimal with black & white text/images with very few colorful accents? Do you want it to be extremely colorful and bright (like the masthead on this blog)?
EXAMPLE:
Hi,
1. Blue Sky Design, blueskymastheads dot blogspot dot com
2. "brightening up the blogosphere one masthead at a time"
3/4. I'd like to have an image of a blue sky. It could include clouds or a sun or something of that nature. It should match the "Simple template" from Blogger with the blue background.
5. Standard width.
I want a very colorful masthead with big, bold text.

Helpful hint: More detail is not always better. You may have a perfect picture in your head, but there is absolutely no way that I can recreate it unless you actually draw that up, color it in, and send it to me. If you don't keep an open mind, you will probably end up very disappointed.
Orders are completely on a first come, first served basis. Be patient. Graphic design is a tedious process. Just send me an e-mail and I'll do the rest. If I have questions during the design process, I'll likely e-mail you. Before you purchase, you can preview the masthead. Changes will be made, if necessary, but please realize that I will not recreate your masthead five or six times. If you happen to be very picky, go to a professional. Mastheads are $10 each.
